Sure it is a musical but the 48 Ford fixed up and raced by a bunch of high school hot rodders in the LA river is just pure magic. Also I want the 48 Ford very very bad.

I got to really liking the late 40s Fords more due to playing LA Noire. I was already a fan of the '40.

I just watched Grease 2 the other day with the wife and it's great watching movies you never think about when you're older and more critical. At the talent show after the "cool rider" jumped the gorge and everyone thinks he's dead Michael is just playing piano while everyone is grieving smiling away thinking to himself
They all think I'm dead. Ha.
I never liked Michael.

the white version like shown wasn't a bad looking rod that was fairly accurate for the time period, the red thing though was ugly.
The 70s had some great movie cars. I think what cemented the hot rod image in my head was 34 Ford in the movie "The California Kid"

They are just a wonderful shape that started back in 34/35 if I am correct

The 46-48 body lines started in 42. 41 was had hints of it and was cross of the 46-48 and 40 Ford

Never seen it but the Hot Rod looks the product of the era.
The red car was atrocious I just liked the white Ford and like you said the period correct hotrodding of the car.

Never watched Grease 2. I figured it would be a train wreck

The general shape and idea was there but just highly evolved.

Oh, wow. I actually like it better. Danny is the only character I really like in Grease. In Grease 2 I like almost all the T Birds, especially Goose.

Well there might be a kernel but there isn't anything relatable between a pre 40 ford and the 46-48. Your early fords are 32, 33-34, 35-36, 37, 38-40, 41, 42, 46-48. Though the 46s were mainly the exact same as the early 42s but with fresh grilles

It was need for speed games that did it for me. Played nfs2 way too much as a kid and then playing my way through nfs porsche, I learned how cool modding and "real" racing can be. Also loved nfs underground.

Yeah he's one of the T-Birds. All the T-Birds are more likeable in the second one instead of just Danny and sometimes Kinniki.

They started using the flathead in 32 right? Was it the same block through 48 or did it change to a new design?

Yeah 32 was the first year if the Flathead V8
the 32-34 motors I know are different, the 35-48s are roughly the same with some variances.
